Wildlife in India
The government of India earns more than 100 billion US dollars every year from tourists who go to tour India. Jim Corbett National Park – named after the famous hunter, Jim Corbett, it is situated in the Indian state of Uttarkhand. It is a conservatory for different variety of animals found in the sub Himalayan region and so, only selected areas of the park are open to tourists. It is a heaven for wildlife lovers and many species of animals like leopard, fishing cat, Himalayan bears, grey mongoose, jungle cat, elephant, buffalo, Indian tiger, deer, different species of monkeys and other species of birds and reptiles can be found in Corbett National Park. It is included in most India travel packages and is popular with both domestic and international tourists.
Kaziranga National Park – situated in the picturesque state of Assam in North Eastern India, it is a UNESCO world heritage site. It is situated in the banks of mighty river Brahmaputra and is home to many endangered species of animals like the one-horned rhinos. Different species of animals found in this national park include leopards, tigers, wild buffalos, hog deer, wild boar, hoolock gibbon and the rivers flowing through Kaziranga are the home to Ganges Dolphin, which is endangered as well.
